Apply Now

Say YES to a summer that could change everything.

At this time, we have completed our placement for summer 2026. However, as we have spots open up, we will review applications and only interview those who meet our specific needs. Thanks so much for your interest.

At FUGE Camps, we believe God uses camp in powerful ways – not just in the lives of students, but in the lives of those who serve.

When you join our staff, you step into a Christ-centered team that’s passionate about ministry, community, and growth. Whether you’re leading Bible study, playing rec games, creating content, or serving behind the scenes, your time on staff will grow you, challenge you, and deepen your faith.

Why work at FUGE Camps?

Grow in your faith.

At FUGE, your spiritual life isn’t an afterthought — it’s the foundation. You’ll be surrounded by a team that prioritizes Scripture, prayer, and Christ-centered community.

Find your people.

You’ll serve alongside a team of like-hearted people who will quickly become more than coworkers — they’ll become lifelong friends. Staffers often say the relationships formed at FUGE are among the most meaningful of their lives.

Build real-world skills.

Many of our alumni say their summer with FUGE prepared them for future jobs and ministry in ways no classroom could.

Serve churches.

FUGE exists to partner with local churches in discipling students. You’ll play a key role in helping youth groups experience a week of gospel-centered worship, connection, and growth.

Get paid.

Ministry doesn’t mean fundraising. As a paid position with housing and meals covered, serving at FUGE allows you to focus on the mission without financial stress.

                    Employment faq

                    Is this a paid position?

Yes — first-year staff earn $300–325 per session. FUGE Camps covers your housing and meals, and travel so you can focus on ministry without having to fundraise.

                    Is housing and food provided?

Yes! FUGE covers housing during training and through the end of camp. Meals are also provided during training and while camp is running.

                    Where is FUGE Camps?

FUGE Camps happen at colleges and retreat centers across the country. Some teams are stationed at one location all summer, while others travel to multiple locations to run camp. Your placement depends on the team you’re assigned to — and we’ll communicate your schedule clearly if you’re offered a position. Regardless of where you serve, every location is carefully chosen to create a fun, safe, and spiritually rich environment for ministry.

Do I have to prepare my own Bible Study material and content?

Nope! All camp content is created and biblically reviewed by our team at Lifeway as well as theologically reviewed by another trusted third party. You’ll receive training and materials before camp starts as well as receive an adequate amount of Bible study training during Training Week — you’ll be fully equipped to lead confidently.

Can I choose my role or location?

You’ll share your role preferences during the application process. While there’s no formal place to indicate location preferences, you’re welcome to share them during your interview. We can’t guarantee specific placements, but we’ll take your preferences into consideration as we prayerfully build each team based on needs, balance, and gifting.

                    What should I pack?

You’ll receive a full packing list before camp, including clothing guidelines, any themes that you may want to pack accordingly for. Each staffer also receives a t-shirt for every day of camp — so you’ll leave with plenty of cool new gear. Plus, you’ll receive a nice staff gift!

What if I’ve never worked camp before?

No problem! Many of our best staffers started with no prior camp experience. If you love Jesus, love people, and are ready to learn, we’ll give you everything you need to thrive at FUGE.

Will I get a break during camp?

Camp life is full and fast-paced — but we care deeply about making space for rest. Most teams have at least one day off each weekend, and some even get two. Travel teams have a different rhythm, with rest looking more like extended breaks built into their schedule between locations. Every staffer also receives one afternoon off per session (from Hang Time through dinner) to recharge. While the work is meaningful and consistent, we want you to be refreshed and ready to invest in students each day.

Can I take a day off for a family event?

We know family matters, and we’ll do our best to try to accommodate important events. That said, serving at FUGE means committing to a full summer of ministry — so flexibility and communication are key.

Can I serve with a friend or someone I know?

Our team takes intentional prayer and consideration when it comes to staff placement and prioritizes the specific needs of the team. If you know someone working FUGE, free to mention them in your application and/or interview. We can’t guarantee placement together, but we’ll take it into consideration.

What if I am interested in one of the leadership roles listed for returnees but I have never worked FUGE Camps before?

Leadership roles are typically filled by returning staff (staff that have served at least one or more summers on FUGE staff) because they require experience with the flow, culture, and expectations of FUGE Camps. That said, we love seeing leadership potential in first-time applicants who are interested specifically in the Financial Director role!

If you are interested in any other leadership roles, the best way to move towards a leadership position is to start strong in a first-year role, show initiative, and invest fully in your team. Many of our leaders began as Bible Study Leaders or Support Staff — and grew into new roles as they served faithfully.

                    How long is the commitment?

Most staff serve from late May through the last week of July. Exact dates vary by team and location.

                    International Mission Board (IMB)

                    https://www.imb.org/fuge/

The International Mission Board teams up with local churches to share God’s love with people all across North Africa and the Middle East (NAME). These places are packed with amazing history. It’s where Jesus’ story began! This summer, you get to be part of bringing hope to kids and families who live there.

We’re focusing on a country that has become a safe place for people who had to leave their homes because of war. It’s a place where God is doing some amazing things! Teens just like you are helping share the hope of Jesus with people from different backgrounds.

Your mission workers are helping families hear about Jesus in all kinds of ways. Many people are hearing the good news of Jesus Christ every day.

Here’s the cool part: YOU get to be part of it. Your prayers, mission offering, and everything you learn this summer helps you join in on what God is doing in this amazing place.

Every year a portion of the mission offering received at camp goes back to the local community through MFuge grants. Local ministries that we partner with can apply for the grant to continue ministry throughout the year. It is amazing to see how the Lord uses these ministries throughout the year.

                    North American Mission Board (NAMB)

“We lead the country in everything you don’t want to lead the country in.”

If people know anything about South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, Matt Hadden says it’s probably that.

“We have 80% unemployment, the average lifespan of an adult male is 50 years, and the teen suicide rate is 300% higher than the national average,” he says. “Several years ago, we had 26 teenagers take their lives in a three-month period. If that happened anywhere else in the country, it would be national news.”

Matt is a missionary with Send Relief, Southern Baptists’ compassion ministry arm. He and his wife, Amanda, along with their four kids, run the Čhaŋkú Wašté Ranch on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, home to the Oglala Lakota people.

“Čhaŋkú Wašté means ‘Good Road,’” he says, “and there’s a reason we call it that. The Oglala are essentially an unreached people group right here in the center of our country, and there’s so much brokenness here. Most people on the reservation, kids especially, have been through traumatic experiences or are living in crisis mode. And so, we are absolutely an evangelistic ministry, but our approach is through compassion ministry.”

Much of what the Haddens do at Čhaŋkú Wašté is built around an eight-week-long summer kids’ camp. “We do a really big, glorified VBS,” Matt says. “It’s a safe place for kids to learn and celebrate who God made them to be. They learn Bible stories, they play games, they do arts and crafts, and really, we just all have a lot of fun.”

When you give to the FUGE Missions Offering, you’re helping provide basketballs, Bibles, crayons, and anything else missionaries like the Haddens might need to share Christ in an unreached place.

Pray that Matt and Amanda will be fully supplied so they can meet needs and see God change lives in South Dakota. Giving to this project will go a long way towards making that happen.

To learn exactly what your offering dollars can do in places like South Dakota and how missionaries all over the U.S. and Canada are meeting needs and seeing God change lives, go to namb.net/lifeway-camps.

                    • If my church uses MinistrySafe, will that count for my Child Protection Training requirement?
                      • Yes. If your church uses MinistrySafe and you have completed that training within one calendar year of your DEPARTURE date from camp, that course will suffice for this training requirement.
                    • Can I share my login information with another adult volunteer who still needs to complete their Child Protection Training course?
                      • No. Each adult attending camp will have to create their own login and complete the course in their name.
                    • I keep running into an error trying to login or access the Child Protection Training course. Who should I contact?
                      • Please reach out to [email protected] if you are experiencing any technical difficulties or errors with the MinistryGrid site.
